Scheduling and Publishing

Write the episode, pick a time, and zPod releases it to your feed and your website on schedule.

Publish At, in Your Time Zone

Set a date and time for the episode to go out. Times use your show's time zone, which you set once in Settings.

Draft, Scheduled, Published

  • Save Draft works at any time, even before the audio is attached.
  • Cancel Schedule returns a scheduled episode to Draft.
  • Unpublish takes an episode out of the public feed. Its audio and artwork stay.

A Publish Checklist

The episode editor shows what is ready: title and audio, plus optional show notes, episode artwork, and season or episode numbers. It guides you. It does not block a draft.

Show Notes and Artwork

Write show notes in Markdown. Show Notes Modules add reusable blocks before or after every episode's notes, on your website and in RSS. Each episode can carry its own artwork, a season and episode number, and a type: Full, Trailer, or Bonus.

Author Blocks

Give each host or guest a small profile block with a photo, role, and short bio. Edit a block once and attach it to any episode; the episode page shows it under the show notes.

See It Live

From the episode editor, open the published episode page, or preview a draft or scheduled episode before it goes out.

Apps Hear About It

When an episode goes out, now or on schedule, zPod refreshes the feed and pings podcast apps such as Overcast so it shows up quickly.

How It Works in Studio

  1. Open a show, then Episodes. Create an episode or open one to edit it.
  2. Set Publish At and choose Schedule, or Publish Now.
  3. Set the show's time zone in Settings → Advanced → Analytics Timezone.
  4. Manage Show Notes Modules and Author Blocks on the show's Modules tab.
